"Fisherman's House" cultural complex with accommodation
The architectural concept of this tourist facility is based on the image of the whale, one of the key symbols of Chukotka, reflecting the region's natural wealth and the centuries-old connection of local people with the sea. The whale tail used in the logo of the "Fisherman's House" holiday centre symbolises respect for the traditions and natural heritage of the area.
A small architectural form organising the public space of the holiday centre takes the shape of a pergola over the fire pit area. It was inspired by the yaranga, the traditional dwelling of the indigenous peoples of Chukotka. The structure can be partially or fully enclosed, protecting the space from wind and precipitation and making the area comfortable to use in a variety of weather conditions.
The silhouette of a whale tail became the basis for the forms of the complex's buildings. Its characteristic curved lines are interpreted in the roof shapes of the guest houses. This sculpted roofline creates an expressive architectural silhouette and provides a visual link between the holiday centre's graphic symbol and its spatial environment.

Like the guest houses, the main building uses shipping containers. The use of container modules emphasises the contemporary and rational character of the architectural solution and suits construction conditions in northern regions. At the same time, the composition of the building also includes motifs referring to the whale tail, uniting all the facilities of the complex in a single artistic concept.
The community centre has 2 storeys and the following parameters:
  • Number of floors – 2
  • Total building area – 388.94 m2
  • Building height – 10.300 m
  • Ground floor height – 4.000 m
